The design for the walls of the patio came from the existing 1920s dry fieldstone wall. We used existing stone from the property to build "dry look" fieldstone sitting walls and capped them with bluestone slabs. A planting bed was built into the patio along the foundation of the house to separate and blur the lines between inside and outside spaces. Entrances and exits are wide enough for two to pass through and open onto an expansive lawn area.
